Jamaican international Cory Burke is expected to join Norwegian top flight club Valerenga on loan until the end of the 2019 season. Burke has been out of football for three months since being unable to secure a renewal to his U.S. visa. The 27 year old scored 11 goals in 30 games last season while this season he scored two in seven appearances. Being without a visa also prevented him from being part of Jamaica’s squad at the CONCACAF Gold Cup last month.
Burke’s agent Damani Ralph says once the former Rivoli United player is able to secure a Shengen visa then he will be playing in Scandinavia until the end of the year. If the Shengen visa is approved then Burke will be the third Jamaican international after Luton Shelton and Adrian Reid to play for Valerenga.
Burke has scored six goals in 16 appearances for the Reggae Boyz. He was also a member of Jamaica’s squad which came second at the 2017 CONCACAF Gold cup.
